About Blistex

Blistex is an American lip care brand of Blistex Inc., a privately held company founded in 1947 and headquartered in Oak Brook, Illinois. Besides its lip balms and lip ointments, the company also owns brands such as Odor-Eaters, Stridex and Kank-A. The products in our database are lip balms and lip treatments, some with sun protection, sold under names such as Lip Infusions, Agave Rescue and Sensitive, many with German or Turkish labels.

What's in a Blistex lip balm

Lip balms and sun-protective lip care make up the 13 Blistex products we list. The sweetener SACCHARIN (10) and PHENOXYETHANOL (10) are the most frequent ingredients, followed by HYDROGENATED COCONUT OIL (9) and DIMETHICONE (9).

Silicones appear in 9 formulas (69%), fragrance in only 3 (23%), and denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.) in 1 (8%). None contains parabens.

Lip care with SPF

In balms with sun protection, the UV filters are listed by their INCI names, and the SPF is shown on the pack. Many entries here carry German or Turkish labels, but the INCI names are the same, so Lip Infusions, Agave Rescue and Sensitive can be compared directly. Silicones end in -CONE or -SILOXANE.
