About Bübchen

Bübchen is a German baby and children's care brand founded on 10 January 1961 by the druggist Ewald Hermes in Delecke on the Möhnesee and based in Soest since 1967. It belonged to Nestlé Deutschland from 1983 and was acquired from Nestlé/Galderma in 2020; it is now run by Bübchen Bodycare, a wholly owned subsidiary of Katjes International. The range covers body care for babies, children and expectant mothers.

Baby care basics

The 8 Bübchen products we list read like a baby care starter kit: baby oil, care cream, SOS+ zinc ointment, shampoo and shower gel, a sensitive bath and shower and a sensitive sun lotion. CITRIC ACID and AQUA appear in 7, GLYCERIN in 6, PARFUM and TOCOPHEROL in 5, followed by PANTHENOL, HELIOTROPINE, GLYCINE SOJA OIL and BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII BUTTER (4 each).

Fragrance is declared in 6 formulas (75%). None contains parabens, silicones or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).

Oil, ointment or lotion

A baby oil contains no water and lists only oils (such as GLYCINE SOJA OIL) and additives, while a zinc ointment is built around ZINC OXIDE. Products labelled "sensitiv" are separate formulas within the range, so check for PARFUM on the specific item – a quarter of these products list none.
