About Cosmia Bio
Cosmia Bio is the organic line of Cosmia, the own-label beauty brand of the retailer Auchan. It was launched in 2019 with formulas certified by the French body ECOCERT, starting with seven adult products – liquid soap, shower gel, hand cream, face moisturiser, micellar water, deodorant and shampoo – plus a baby range. It was rolled out in seven countries, including France, Spain, Portugal and Poland. Our database also contains body milks, scrubs and lip care from the line.
What certification looks like in the data
Shower gels, body lotions and face care lead the 30 Cosmia Bio products we list. None contains parabens, silicones or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.) – a clean contrast with the main Cosmia line.
Fragrance remains part of the picture: 28 formulas (93%) declare it. After water, CITRIC ACID (29) and GLYCERIN (29) are the most frequent ingredients, followed by PARFUM (26) and SODIUM BENZOATE (26).
Reading an organic label
In certified formulas an asterisk usually marks the organic ingredients, with an explanation below the list; plant names appear in Latin, such as CALENDULA OFFICINALIS FLOWER EXTRACT. Cosmia Bio is sold in several countries, including France, Spain, Portugal and Poland, and the supplier behind a product may differ between them.
