About Dr Irena Eris

Dr Irena Eris is a Polish cosmetics company that Irena Eris set up in 1983 and co-owns with her husband, Henryk Orfinger. Its headquarters and main production site are in Piaseczno near Warsaw. Besides the Dr Irena Eris brand, the group runs Lirene, Under Twenty and the pharmacy line Pharmaceris. In 2012 the brand joined the French luxury association Comité Colbert.

Make-up and skincare, by the numbers

INCIMondo lists 28 products under the Dr Irena Eris brand itself, mainly make-up and face care. The top five ingredients after water are GLYCERIN, TOCOPHEROL, HYDROXYACETOPHENONE – an antioxidant that supports the preservative system – CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE and DIMETHICONE.

With DIMETHICONE in the top five, silicones are unsurprisingly the most common tracked group, present in 19 formulas (68%). Fragrance ingredients appear in 15 (54%) and parabens in 1 (4%); none contains denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).

Tips for Dr Irena Eris make-up

Foundations and other coloured products list their pigments as CI numbers, often after a “+/-” sign that covers every shade; CI 77891, for instance, is titanium dioxide. If you prefer silicone-free textures, look out for DIMETHICONE and other names ending in -cone or -siloxane.
