About Frosch
Frosch is a brand of Werner & Mertz, a company based in Mainz, Germany. It launched in 1986 with a phosphate-free neutral soap cleaner and now covers more than 80 household products, from multi-purpose and toilet cleaners to dishwashing liquid and laundry detergent; hand soaps and shower gel were added later. Our 5 entries, with German and Dutch labels, are Senses orange blossom and aloe vera products, an aloe vera cream soap, a pomegranate sensitive shower and a Green Lemon washing-up liquid.
Mild surfactants, one dish soap
Soaps and shower gels are the categories of the 5 Frosch entries – one of which, by name, is actually a washing-up liquid. LACTIC ACID, COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE, PARFUM, SODIUM BENZOATE, SODIUM CHLORIDE and COCO-GLUCOSIDE appear in all 5, with SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE in 4.
Every formula declares fragrance (100%); none contains parabens, silicones or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).
Household and body side by side
Because a dishwashing liquid sits among the body products, the shared ingredients here describe a family of surfactant formulas, not a skin care range – compare a Frosch shower gel with other shower gels. LACTIC ACID is used to set a mildly acidic pH in many of these rinse-off products.
