About Guerlain
Guerlain is a French perfume and cosmetics house founded in Paris in 1828 by the perfumer Pierre-François Pascal Guerlain and run by the Guerlain family until LVMH acquired it in 1994. Its flagship fragrance is Shalimar (1925), and its range spans perfumes such as the Aqua Allegoria line, skin care such as Orchidée Impériale and make-up.
Perfume and luxury skin care
The 7 Guerlain products we list mix fragrance – Shalimar and Aqua Allegoria Forte Rosa Palissandro – with skin care: Super Aqua-Crème day gel, Abeille Royale day cream and honey gel mask, and Orchidée Impériale mask and White concentrate. CITRONELLOL, GERANIOL and LINALOOL appear in all 7, AQUA, PARFUM and LIMONENE in 6, and ALPHA-ISOMETHYL IONONE, GLYCERIN, TOCOPHEROL and SODIUM HYALURONATE in 5.
Fragrance is declared in every formula (100%) and silicones in 5 (71%). None contains parabens or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).
Reading a perfume's list
In a fragrance such as Shalimar the composition appears simply as PARFUM, followed by the regulated fragrance substances – CITRONELLOL, GERANIOL, LINALOOL, LIMONENE – that must be named individually. The skin care creams list the same substances because they are scented too; compare a cream only with other creams.
