About Hanskin

Hanskin is a South Korean skin care brand, one of the early K-beauty names, credited with creating and popularising the BB cream in the early 2000s. The company later merged with Celltrion, a biotech and pharmaceutical firm. Our 5 entries focus on cleansing: Pore Cleansing Oil in PHA and BHA versions, Pore Cleansing Balm in AHA and PHA versions, and a cleansing foam for blackheads.

Oil cleansing

Only the foam carries a category tag, but the other 4 Hanskin products are cleansing oils and balms. SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS SEED OIL (jojoba) and LAVANDULA ANGUSTIFOLIA OIL (lavender) appear in all 5, GLYCERIN in 4, and PRUNUS ARMENIACA KERNEL OIL, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, ETHYLHEXYL PALMITATE and HELIANTHUS ANNUUS SEED OIL in 3.

None of the 5 declares fragrance (PARFUM), parabens, silicones or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).

Scent from an essential oil

LAVANDULA ANGUSTIFOLIA OIL gives these cleansers a scent even though no PARFUM is listed; essential oils can bring fragrance substances such as LINALOOL with them. AHA, BHA and PHA in the names refer to families of acids – check the list for the specific acid each version uses.
