About Jergens
Jergens is an American skin care brand of the Andrew Jergens Company, founded in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1882 by Andrew Jergens Sr. and Charles H. Geifus, and owned by Japan's Kao Corporation since 1988. The company began with soaps; its cherry-almond hand lotion, now sold as Jergens Original Scent, and the Natural Glow self-tanning lotion are among its best-known products.
One lotion template
The 8 Jergens products we list are body lotions and creams – Ultra Healing, Daily Moisture, Hydrating Coconut and others. Their base is consistent: CETEARETH-20, DIMETHICONE, SODIUM HYDROXIDE and STEARIC ACID appear in all 8, and GLYCERIN, ARGININE, CARBOMER, CETEARYL ALCOHOL and C12-15 ALKYL BENZOATE in 7.
Silicones are present in all 8 (100%), fragrance in 7 (88%) and parabens in 6 (75%), METHYLPARABEN among them. None contains denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).
Parabens and water names
Parabens appear in most of these lotions; look for names ending in -PARABEN, such as METHYLPARABEN or PROPYLPARABEN. US labels often write WATER where EU labels use AQUA, which is why both names appear in our data for the same kind of product.
