About Lavera
Lavera is a German natural cosmetics brand launched in 1987 by Thomas Haase. The company behind it, Laverana, is based in the Hanover region, with research and production in Wennigsen and filling and logistics in Bantorf. Laverana joined the NATRUE association in 2007 and helped develop its natural cosmetics certification; the brand describes its products as certified natural beauty.
Lavera in figures
Lavera's 15 products in INCIMondo cover hair care, toothpastes, sun care and body care. Four of the five most frequent ingredients after water are individually declared fragrance components – LIMONENE, LINALOOL, CITRAL and CITRONELLOL – with GLYCERIN the only exception.
Fragrance ingredients appear in 12 of the 15 formulas and denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.) in 5. Parabens and silicones are not found in any.
Certified natural, and how to read it
Laverana helped develop the NATRUE certification, and that label is the meaningful marker here, since “natural” on its own has no legal definition in the EU. Because components such as CITRAL and CITRONELLOL rank so high, they are the names to check if you avoid particular fragrance allergens.
