About Les Cosmétiques Design Paris

Les Cosmétiques Design Paris is the own-label beauty brand of the French retailer Carrefour, announced in 2012 to replace its existing beauty products. At launch it covered about 650 items – toiletries, face and anti-ageing care, hair care and make-up, including around 20 certified-organic products – priced from 1 to 12 euros. It was introduced first in France and then rolled out to Italy, Spain and Belgium, with further markets planned in Asia and South America.

Carrefour's wash basics

Soaps, shower gels and shampoos dominate the 29 Les Cosmétiques Design Paris products in our database – the toiletry end of a range that also covered face care and make-up at launch. After water, PARFUM (27) leads, followed by GLYCERIN (21), SODIUM CHLORIDE (18) and CITRIC ACID (18).

Fragrance turns up in 27 formulas (93%). Silicones are listed in 7 (24%), denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.) in 2 (7%) and parabens in 1 (3%).

Organic items and country versions

The range included certified-organic products, which you can recognise by an asterisk explained under the ingredient list. Since the brand was rolled out from France to Italy, Spain and Belgium, an item bought in one country may not share its formula with one bought elsewhere.
