About Lumē
Lumē is an American 'whole body' deodorant brand founded by Dr. Shannon Klingman, a board-certified OB-GYN who serves as CEO and the voice of the brand. Originally sold direct to consumers and on Amazon, it was acquired by the razor and grooming company Harry's in a deal announced in December 2021. Besides deodorant sticks and creams it has sold a laundry product, Biofilm Buster.
Mandelic acid at the core
Our 4 entries are all Whole Body Deodorant – three sticks and a Lavender Sage Smooth Cream; 3 are classed as deodorants. CAFFEINE, MARANTA ARUNDINACEA ROOT POWDER, PANTHENOL and MANDELIC ACID appear in all 4; STEARYL ALCOHOL, SILICA, ISOPENTYLDIOL, PPG-15 STEARYL ETHER, ISODODECANE, LAURYL LAURATE, OZOKERITE and ZEA MAYS STARCH in 3 – the waxes and powders of a solid stick.
All 4 declare fragrance (100%) and 1 contains silicones (25%). None contains parabens or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).
Stick versus cream
MANDELIC ACID is an alpha-hydroxy acid, and arrowroot appears as MARANTA ARUNDINACEA ROOT POWDER. No aluminium salt is among the most frequent ingredients here; the waxes OZOKERITE and STEARYL ALCOHOL belong to the sticks, so the Smooth Cream's list looks different even though it shares the active core.
