About Nuxe

Nuxe is a French cosmetics brand built by Aliza Jabès, who bought a small Parisian natural cosmetics laboratory in the early 1990s; production is mainly at the Lécousse site in Brittany. Its first hit was the multi-purpose dry oil Huile Prodigieuse in 1991, followed by Rêve de Miel lip balm (1994) and Crème Fraîche de Beauté (1999). The range now also includes anti-ageing lines, sun care, a fragrance and, since 2023, hair care.

Oils and named scents

The 9 Nuxe products we list include two Huile Prodigieuse dry oils, Crème Fraîche de Beauté, shower gels, a Bio Beauté cream and an after-sun lotion. PARFUM appears in all 9 and TOCOPHEROL in 8; the fragrance substances LINALOOL (7), CITRONELLOL (6), GERANIOL (6) and LIMONENE (6) rank alongside oils such as HELIANTHUS ANNUUS SEED OIL (6) and CAMELLIA OLEIFERA SEED OIL (5).

Fragrance is declared in every formula (100%), and silicones appear in 2 (22%). None contains parabens or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).

Reading a dry oil

A dry oil such as Huile Prodigieuse contains no water: its list consists of plant oils (under Latin names), emollients and fragrance. The Florale and other variants of the same oil can differ mainly in their scent, which shows up in the named fragrance substances near the end of the list.
