About Pouce

Pouce is the entry-price own brand of the French retailer Auchan, covering hundreds of everyday products – around 450 first-price items according to an Auchan press release – across food and non-food. In personal care, the products in our database are basic toiletries: soap, hand cream, shampoo, shaving gel, deodorant, mouthwash and baby wipes. Auchan itself was founded by Gérard Mulliez in 1961 and is controlled by the Mulliez family.

Entry-price toiletries

Soaps, shampoos and shaving products are the main categories among the 22 Pouce items we list, in line with the basic toiletries this first-price brand covers. PARFUM (17) tops the count after water, followed by SODIUM BENZOATE (13), SODIUM CHLORIDE (11) and CITRIC ACID (10).

Fragrance appears in 17 formulas (77%). Silicones appear in 4 (18%), denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.) in 1 (5%), and parabens in none.

Pouce, Auchan or Cosmia?

Auchan sells toiletries under three names in our database – Pouce, Auchan and Cosmia – each with its own page. If you are weighing a Pouce shampoo against a pricier one, compare the two INCI lists directly; contract suppliers can change, so the list on your pack is the one to go by.
