About Williams
Products filed under the Williams name in our database are men's toiletries from two contexts. Most are French-labelled deodorant sticks, shower gels and shaving products. Others, such as Lectric Shave pre-shave lotion, belong to the American company Combe Incorporated, which acquired the J.B. Williams Company in the early 2000s and lists Lectric Shave among its men's grooming brands. Because these are different product families, the formulas below vary considerably.
Two families under one name
The 17 Williams products we list – shower gels, deodorants and shaving products – combine French-labelled toiletries with American pre-shave such as Lectric Shave. Every formula declares fragrance (17 of 17, 100%); after water, PARFUM (17) is followed by GLYCERIN (14), PROPYLENE GLYCOL (11) and STEARIC ACID (10).
Denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.) appears in 2 products (12%) and silicones in 1 (6%). None contains parabens.
Know which Williams you have
Because two unrelated product families share the name, the overall figures say little about any single product. A deodorant stick and a pre-shave lotion will have very different lists; ingredient order is meaningful down to 1% and free below that.
