About Ziaja
Ziaja is a Polish cosmetics company founded in 1989 in Gdańsk by Zenon and Aleksandra Ziaja, both pharmacists, and still headquartered there. Its first commercial success was an olive skin cream, and the range has since grown to a broad selection of face, body and hand care, sun protection and bath products sold at accessible prices. Alongside cosmetics, the company also produces pharmaceutical products.
Ziaja's 602 formulas
Face creams, hand creams and sunscreens make up the core of the 602 Ziaja products we list – a broad, everyday range that matches the company's mix of face, body, hand and sun care.
Most of it is scented: PARFUM appears in 482 formulas (80%) and is also the most frequent ingredient after water, ahead of GLYCERIN (451), PROPYLENE GLYCOL (332) and PANTHENOL (303). Silicones turn up in 289 products (48%), parabens in 73 (12%), and none of the formulas lists denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).
Spotting parabens in the Ziaja range
With parabens in only part of such a large catalogue, the brand name tells you little – the individual list does. Look for words ending in -PARABEN, such as METHYLPARABEN or PROPYLPARABEN, and check again when a familiar Ziaja product gets new packaging, as formulas are revised over time.
