About Aussie

Aussie is a hair care brand founded in the United States in 1979 by Tom Redmond; despite its kangaroo logo and Australian-themed advertising, it is not Australian-owned or made. It was owned by Bristol-Myers Squibb before 2003 and now belongs to Procter & Gamble. Its first product was the intensive conditioner Australian 3 Minute Miracle, and the range covers shampoos, conditioners, serums, gels and sprays.

Miracle names, named scents

Conditioners (2), shampoos and a dry shampoo make up the 7 Aussie products we list – Miracle Moist, Frizz Miracle, Miracle Curls with coconut oil, 3 Minute Miracle Shine, a Miracle Oil reconstructor and Wash+Blow in a can. PARFUM appears in all 7, and LINALOOL, CITRIC ACID, AQUA and the preservatives METHYLISOTHIAZOLINONE and METHYLCHLOROISOTHIAZOLINONE in 5 each.

Fragrance is declared in every formula (100%). Silicones appear in 4 (57%) and denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.) in 3 (43%); none contains parabens.

Rinse-off, leave-in or aerosol

The METHYLISOTHIAZOLINONE/METHYLCHLOROISOTHIAZOLINONE pair is restricted in the EU to rinse-off products such as shampoos and conditioners. A dry shampoo in a can is an aerosol, and denatured alcohol and propellants typically lead its list – compare it with other dry shampoos, not with a conditioner.
