About Bell

Bell is a Polish colour cosmetics company that dates its founding to 1983. It operates production facilities in Józefów near Warsaw. Besides make-up sold under its own Bell name, the company has long worked as a contract manufacturer for other brands, with lip glosses and lipsticks among its main contract products.

What the labels show

Colour dominates Bell's 160 entries in INCIMondo – make-up first, then lip care and nail polish – and it shows in the ingredient ranking. Three of the five most frequent ingredients (water aside) are pigments: CI 77891 (titanium dioxide), CI 77491 and CI 77499. PHENOXYETHANOL and ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN complete the list.

Silicones are the most common of the tracked groups, appearing in 66 formulas (41%). Fragrance follows with 50 (31%), while parabens (10, 6%) and denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT., 7, 4%) are less frequent.

Decoding Bell make-up

Make-up labels often list colourants after a “+/-” or “may contain” sign; that block covers every shade in the range, not only the one in your hand. CI 77491 and CI 77499 are both iron oxides, so seeing them together is normal on foundations and powders.
