About Byoma
Byoma is a skin care brand from Future Beauty Labs, the Glasgow- and New York-based company founded in 2016 by Marc Elrick, which also owns Tan-Luxe, Tanologist and Isle of Paradise. The brand is built around the skin barrier and a tri-ceramide complex of ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids developed with a Korean lab. It debuted on Target's US website with seven products priced at $16.99 or less.
Ceramides in every entry
Our 4 Byoma entries are a Brightening Toner, a Balancing Face Mist, a Hydrating Milky Toner and the Barrier Repair Treatment. GLYCERIN, CERAMIDE NP, AQUA and 1,2-HEXANEDIOL appear in all 4; SODIUM PHYTATE, TOCOPHEROL, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL and BUTYLENE GLYCOL in 3; LACTIC ACID, SPHINGOLIPIDS, SODIUM HYALURONATE, PANTHENOL and HYDROGENATED LECITHIN in 2.
Silicones appear in 1 product (25%). None declares fragrance, parabens or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).
Spotting the barrier trio
The tri-ceramide idea shows up on the label as CERAMIDE NP (and sometimes other CERAMIDE names), plus CHOLESTEROL and fatty acids further down. LACTIC ACID, in 2 entries, marks the toners with an acid step – the Brightening Toner is the one to check if you are comparing acid content.
