About Cattier

Cattier is a French natural cosmetics brand founded by the Parisian entrepreneur Pierre Cattier; it celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2018. Clay was the basis of its first products and remains central to the range, from green and pink clay masks to soaps. The company was one of the first members of Cosmebio, the French association of natural and organic cosmetics. Products in our database include clay masks, toothpastes, children's shampoos, mouthwash, soaps and lip care.

Clay comes first

Clay, the basis of Cattier's first products, still leads its ingredient count: KAOLIN appears in 10 of the 15 products we list, ahead of BENZYL ALCOHOL (8), GLYCERIN (8) and LACTIC ACID (7). Face masks, toothpastes and soaps are the main categories.

Only 4 formulas (27%) declare fragrance. None contains parabens, silicones or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).

Masks, toothpaste and the organic asterisk

One of the first members of Cosmebio, Cattier lists plant ingredients by Latin names, often with an asterisk for organic ones explained under the list. In toothpastes and mouthwash, flavour appears as AROMA rather than PARFUM; to be sure a product is unscented, check for both and for named fragrance substances.
