About Joanna
Joanna is a Polish cosmetics brand of Laboratorium Kosmetyczne Joanna, which marked its 40th anniversary in 2022. Its first product was a perm solution made in Warsaw, a hair bleach followed in 1987, and a hair care line with black radish became its flagship in the 1990s. The range spans hair colour and care as well as body care.
One of each, all scented
Our 4 Joanna entries are a hair serum, a cleansing shampoo, a Naturia mango-and-papaya shower gel and a silky regenerating leave-in conditioner. PARFUM appears in all 4; AQUA, SODIUM BENZOATE and HEXYL CINNAMAL in 3; COCONUT ALKANES, HEXAMETHYLINDANOPYRAN, SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE, COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE, POLYQUATERNIUM-7, DMDM HYDANTOIN, LINALOOL and LIMONENE in 2.
Fragrance is declared in all 4 (100%); silicones and denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.) each appear in 1 (25%). None contains parabens.
Serum versus shampoo
A hair serum built on COCONUT ALKANES has almost nothing in common with a foaming shampoo, so compare each Joanna product with its own category. DMDM HYDANTOIN, found in 2 products, is one of the formaldehyde-releasing preservatives – a label detail some shoppers look for.
