About Kiehl's
Kiehl's Since 1851 traces its history to a homeopathic pharmacy opened in 1851 at Third Avenue and East 13th Street in New York's East Village, associated with John Kiehl. L'Oréal acquired the company in April 2000. All 4 of our entries are face cleansers: Ultra Facial Oil-Free, Cucumber Herbal, Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Herbal and Clearly Corrective Brightening Exfoliating Daily Cleanser.
A cleanser line-up
The 4 Kiehl's products carry no category tags, but all are cleansers. GLYCERIN and AQUA appear in all 4; SALICYLIC ACID, SODIUM HYDROXIDE, SODIUM CHLORIDE, COCO-BETAINE, CITRIC ACID and LINALOOL in 3; and PHENOXYETHANOL, CHLORPHENESIN, DISODIUM EDTA and PROPYLENE GLYCOL in 2.
None declares fragrance (PARFUM), parabens, silicones or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).
LINALOOL without PARFUM
LINALOOL is a fragrance substance that must be labelled above set levels; appearing in three cleansers without PARFUM, it most likely comes from the botanical oils and extracts named in the products. SALICYLIC ACID in three of four is notable for a cleanser line – if you use other exfoliating products, compare lists to see where it overlaps.
