About Klorane

Klorane is a French botanical hair and body care brand founded in 1965 by the pharmacist Pierre Fabre, who made his first chamomile shampoo in the back room of his dispensary. It belongs to the Pierre Fabre group. The range covers shampoos – dry shampoo being its best-known product – conditioners and masks, body care, sun care, face cleansing and the Klorane Bébé line.

From baby care to dry shampoo

The 9 Klorane products we list mix the Bébé and Petit Junior lines (detangling shampoos, a soothing balm, a pear shower gel) with adult shampoos, including desert date and two dry shampoos with Polish labels. AQUA appears in 8, PARFUM in 7, CITRIC ACID in 6 and BENZOIC ACID in 5.

Fragrance is declared in 8 formulas (89%). Silicones appear in 2 (22%) and denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.) in 1 (11%); none contains parabens.

Plant names and dry shampoos

Klorane names each product after its plant – oat, mint, desert date – which appears in the list under its Latin name, such as AVENA SATIVA for oat. A dry shampoo is an aerosol whose list typically begins with propellants and absorbent powders rather than water, so it reads very differently from a wash-off shampoo.
