About Neutral
Neutral is a fragrance-free personal and household care brand belonging to Unilever, founded more than 25 years ago and sold mainly in Scandinavia, where it holds a leading position in Denmark. Its products are aimed at people with sensitive skin and are designed to reduce the risk of allergies, with ranges for the whole family.
Cleansing without perfume
Liquid and bar soaps, hand washes and shampoos – including an anti-dandruff version – make up the 8 Neutral products we list. AQUA and SODIUM CHLORIDE appear in all 8, followed by GLYCERIN, SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE, COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE, CITRIC ACID and SODIUM BENZOATE (6 each).
In keeping with the brand's positioning, none of the 8 is flagged for fragrance. There are no parabens or silicones either; denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.) appears in 1 product (13%).
What fragrance-free looks like
A fragrance-free list contains neither PARFUM nor AROMA nor any of the individually named fragrance substances such as LIMONENE, LINALOOL or CITRONELLOL. Neutral also sells household products such as detergents; those follow different labelling rules from cosmetics and are not included here.
