About Proraso
Proraso is an Italian shaving brand owned by Ludovico Martelli S.r.l.; its pre-shave cream has been produced since 1948. The range is organised in colour-coded lines – Green for general use, White for sensitive skin, Red for coarse beards and Blue for moisturising – and covers pre-shave creams, shaving soaps and creams, aftershaves and beard care. Our 5 entries include the White line's pre-shave cream, shaving cream and aftershave balm with green tea and oatmeal, a coarse-beard balm and an Italian-labelled sensitive-skin balm.
Before and after the razor
Aftershaves (2) and shaving products make up the 5 Proraso entries. GLYCERIN, PARFUM, LIMONENE, GERANIOL and TETRASODIUM GLUTAMATE DIACETATE appear in all 5, with AVENA SATIVA KERNEL EXTRACT (oat) and CAMELLIA SINENSIS LEAF EXTRACT (green tea) in 4.
Every formula declares fragrance (100%); none contains parabens, silicones or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).
Colour lines and their extracts
Oat and green tea extracts belong to the White line for sensitive skin, which dominates our sample; other colour lines use different botanicals, so compare within one line. GERANIOL and LIMONENE are fragrance substances named above set levels – their presence in every product follows from the scented formulas.
