About Rogé Cavaillès
Rogé Cavaillès was founded in 1924 in a Paris pharmacy at 116 boulevard Haussmann and is known for its 'surgras' (superfatted) cleansing formulas. The Italian Bolton group bought the brand from Procter & Gamble in 1998, and in 2022 it was renamed Cavaillès with new packaging. Sold in around 7,000 French pharmacies, it makes most of its cleansing sales with shower gels, while its bar soaps are pharmacy best-sellers. Our entries include Lait et miel and Fleur de coton soaps and an Amande verte bath and shower gel.
Superfatted, and always scented
Soaps (4) and shower gels (2) make up the 6 Rogé Cavaillès products we list. GLYCERIN and PARFUM appear in all 6, TETRASODIUM EDTA in 5, and PRUNUS PERSICA KERNEL OIL, PRUNUS AMYGDALUS DULCIS OIL, SODIUM TALLOWATE and LANOLIN in 4 each.
Fragrance is declared in all 6 (100%). None contains parabens, silicones or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).
What 'surgras' looks like in INCI
In the bars, SODIUM TALLOWATE is soap made from tallow, and the added oils – peach kernel and sweet almond – plus LANOLIN supply the extra fat the 'surgras' name refers to. Since the 2022 rename, newer packs read Cavaillès; compare the list on the pack, as formulas were updated with the new identity.
