About Secrets de Provence
Secrets de Provence is a French natural and organic cosmetics brand whose products are made in France. The brand describes its approach as mostly zero-waste, and a large share of its products are certified organic cosmetics. Its range centres on solid formats – solid shampoos with red or green clay and an anti-dandruff version, classic bar soaps and a solid shaving bar – plus other bath and hair-removal care. Our entries are a shaving bar, two solid shampoos and an anti-dandruff powder shampoo.
Clays, starch and a mild surfactant
Shaving, dry shampoo and anti-dandruff shampoo are tagged among our 4 Secrets de Provence products. PARFUM and LIMONENE appear in all 4; DISODIUM LAURYL SULFOSUCCINATE, KAOLIN, BENTONITE, TRITICUM VULGARE STARCH, GLYCERIN, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII BUTTER, STEARIC ACID and AQUA in 3; and HYDROLYZED WHEAT PROTEIN and EUGENOL in 2.
All 4 declare fragrance (100%); none contains parabens, silicones or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).
Wheat in a shampoo
TRITICUM VULGARE STARCH and HYDROLYZED WHEAT PROTEIN come from wheat; if you avoid wheat-derived ingredients, check these bars closely. KAOLIN and BENTONITE are clays that give the solid and powder formats their texture – a powder shampoo is activated with water, so its list reads very differently from a liquid one.
