About Today
today is the drugstore own brand of the German Rewe Group, sold at Rewe and Penny and in Austria also at BIPA, BILLA and Merkur. The brand has existed for over 30 years, with a break between 2007 and 2013, when it returned with a new design. Rewe does not name its manufacturers; the range of more than 160 products covers oral care, skin and body care, hair care, face care, sun care, today Men and feminine hygiene.
A basket of basics
The 7 today products we list are a mixed drugstore basket with German names: a solid soap, a milk and honey cream soap, a hygienic liquid soap, a sun milk, a foot deodorant, a gentle cleansing milk and an acetone-free nail polish remover. PARFUM is the one constant (7), followed by AQUA (6) and SODIUM CHLORIDE and GLYCERIN (4 each).
Fragrance is declared in every formula (100%). Silicones and denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.) each appear in 2 (29%); none contains parabens.
Comparing very different products
Because this selection spans soaps, sun care and a nail polish remover, the totals say little about any single item – compare each product with others of its kind. An acetone-free nail polish remover uses other solvents, which appear at the top of its list instead of water.
