About Veet

Veet is a hair removal brand owned by Reckitt, which acquired the trademark in 1990. The product began as Neet, made by the Hannibal Pharmaceutical Company and registered as a Canadian trademark in 1918; the Veet name was established in the UK in 1922, while North America used Neet until 2002. The range includes depilatory creams, lotions, gels and mousses and wax products for different skin types.

Creams that dissolve hair

Hair removal products make up the 9 Veet entries – shower creams, Suprem' Essence and Minima creams, a spray-on cream, a men's cream and cold facial wax strips. Beyond PARFUM and AQUA (8 each), the ranking shows the depilatory system: CALCIUM HYDROXIDE (7) and POTASSIUM THIOGLYCOLATE (6), with CETEARYL ALCOHOL (7), GLYCERIN (7), PARAFFINUM LIQUIDUM (6) and UREA (4).

Fragrance is declared in 8 formulas (89%) and parabens in 4 (44%). Silicones appear in 1 (11%); none contains denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).

Cream or wax

Depilatory creams work chemically – look for a thioglycolate (POTASSIUM THIOGLYCOLATE) together with an alkaline ingredient such as CALCIUM HYDROXIDE – whereas wax strips remove hair mechanically and have quite different lists based on resins and waxes. Sensitive-skin variants are separate formulas, so compare the exact version you use.
