A mixture of protein-splitting enzymes from pineapple.
What it is
Bromelain is a mixture of proteolytic enzymes found in pineapple. CosIng lists it as a keratolytic and skin-conditioning agent.
Where it is used
Used in enzyme peels, exfoliating masks, cleansing powders and face care.
Limits of interpretation
The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.
The label does not show the enzyme activity, which depends on the raw material and the formula.
