Our review
The classic Norwegian Formula hand cream in its fragrance-free version: a short, glycerin-heavy formula that is thick, very economical and aimed at dry, chapped hands. It is consistently well rated; the main drawback mentioned is a greasy or sticky feel if too much is used.

Packaging and what the product is
The quoted photo from neutrogena.co.uk shows the familiar white tube with a red base and Norwegian flag, labelled “Norwegian Formula® Hand Cream Concentrated Unscented”, “Glycerin + Vitamin E” and “Upgraded formula”; the image file refers to the 50 ml size listed in our database (a 75 ml tube also exists). It is a dense cream applied in a pea-sized amount.
Ingredient analysis
The formula is deliberately simple. Glycerin is the second ingredient and makes up a large share of the cream – it is a humectant that draws water into the outer skin layers, which is why the cream feels so concentrated. Cetearyl alcohol and sodium cetearyl sulfate form the emulsion, and palmitic and stearic acids add body.
Tocopherol and tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E) are antioxidants; disodium and potassium phosphate buffer the pH. Instead of classic preservatives, the formula relies on ethylhexylglycerin and caprylyl glycol. There is no fragrance, no plant oil and no silicone.
What to watch out for
With no fragrance and a very short list, there is little to flag. A very high glycerin content can feel tacky, and on cracked skin it can sting briefly. Neutrogena also sells a scented concentrated version – check the label if you want the unscented one, as one Wizaż reviewer bought the wrong variant by mistake.
What users say
Ratings are high across sites: 4.2/5 from 368 ratings on Wizaż, 4.6/5 from 307 reviews on neutrogena.co.uk, and 4.79/5 from 105 verified-purchase reviews for the 75 ml tube on Rossmann.pl (all checked 30 Oct 2026). Reviewers describe it as their winter staple for dry, chapped hands: a tiny amount covers both hands, it lasts a long time, and many say hands feel soothed and soft for hours; some use a thicker layer overnight.
The recurring criticism is texture – some find it too greasy or leaving a film, especially in summer, and a few have to reapply it during the day. One reviewer missed having a scent.
Who it may suit
Anyone with dry, rough or chapped hands, especially in winter or with frequent hand washing, who wants a fragrance-free cream. People who prefer a light, fast-absorbing lotion may find it too heavy for daytime.
