Our review

The scented 75 ml version of Neutrogena’s Norwegian Formula concentrated hand cream in its updated formula: a very short, glycerin-rich cream with fatty alcohols, fatty acids and vitamin E. Opinions on this reformulation are few and lukewarm compared with the much-loved older version.

Packaging and what the product is

We found no official product page for this exact variant, so no photo is cited. The cream comes in a small 75 ml tube; reviewers describe a dense, very concentrated cream that is hard to squeeze out and should be used sparingly.

Ingredient analysis

Glycerin is second on the list and is the star – this is essentially a high-glycerin humectant cream. Cetearyl alcohol, palmitic and stearic acids with sodium cetearyl sulfate form the thick emulsion. Tocopheryl acetate and tocopherol are antioxidants; disodium and potassium phosphate buffer the pH. Preservation relies on ethylhexylglycerin and caprylyl glycol rather than classic preservatives. Compared with an older version of this cream recorded on Open Beauty Facts, phenoxyethanol has been dropped in favour of caprylyl glycol and a phosphate buffer has been added.

What to watch out for

Parfum is listed without individually declared allergens; an unscented version exists for fragrance-sensitive users. High glycerin can feel tacky in humid conditions and may sting on cracked skin at first. Otherwise there are no restricted or controversial ingredients.

What users say

Opinions are limited: on Wizaż the upgraded scented formula had 3.3/5 from just 7 ratings (checked 31 Oct 2026), while the previous scented formula’s page showed 4.3/5 from 105 ratings – those older reviews describe a different recipe. Reviewers of the new version say it is very concentrated and hard to squeeze, with a balm-like smell and slip; one calls it a disappointing ‘improvement’, while others find it helpful for chapped hands in winter.

Who it may suit

People with dry, chapped hands who like dense, glycerin-heavy creams and use them sparingly, especially at night. Those who want a light, fast-absorbing or unscented cream should look at other variants.
