About Dop
Dop is a French hair care brand launched in 1934 with what it presented as the first soap-free shampoo. It belongs to L'Oréal through its subsidiary Lascad, and its formulas are made in France. Over the decades the range added Baby Dop (1977) and P'tit Dop (1993) for children. Our entries include P'tit Dop, very gentle vitamin and plant-milk shampoos, a honey 2-in-1 and a Corsican clementine cream shower.
A classic shampoo base
Shampoos (4) dominate the 6 Dop products, alongside a shower product and a 2-in-1. SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE, SODIUM CHLORIDE and PARFUM appear in all 6, then GLYCOL DISTEARATE, SODIUM BENZOATE, LINALOOL and CITRIC ACID in 5.
Every formula declares fragrance (100%), and parabens appear in 1 (17%). None contains silicones or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).
Salt and shimmer
SODIUM CHLORIDE – table salt – thickens shampoos made with SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE, and GLYCOL DISTEARATE gives the pearly look many Dop bottles have. 'Très doux' is a product claim; the surfactant system is still listed in full, so compare the children's and adult versions directly.
