About Les Savons d'Orély
Les Savons d'Orély is a small artisan soap workshop listed by the Caen la Mer tourist office in Normandy. Since 2004 it has been making handmade organic soaps and solid toiletries. Its soaps carry scent and ingredient names such as citrus, thyme, ylang-ylang or olive and poppy.
A soap-maker's ingredient list
The 10 Les Savons d'Orély products in INCIMondo are bar soaps, and their ingredient ranking reads like a soap recipe: SODIUM OLIVATE (saponified olive oil – the soap itself), SODIUM COCOATE (saponified coconut oil, which gives the lather), GLYCERIN, SODIUM RAPESEEDATE and SODIUM SHEA BUTTERATE.
Nothing else from the usual checklist turns up: the 10 formulas contain no fragrance ingredients, parabens, silicones or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).
Reading a handmade soap
In traditional soaps, the first entries name the saponified oils, so they tell you which oils a bar is based on. Since each soap is handmade, read the list of the specific bar you pick rather than assuming all variants match.
