About Lirene

Lirene is one of the product lines of the Polish cosmetics company Dr Irena Eris, alongside Dr Irena Eris, Under Twenty, the pharmacy brand Pharmaceris and professional products. The company was started in 1983 and has its main headquarters and production site in Piaseczno near Warsaw. Lirene focuses on face and body care.

Lirene's labels, summarised

Face care leads the 92 Lirene products in INCIMondo, followed by cleansers and make-up removers and body care – the areas the brand focuses on. After water, the ingredients met most often are GLYCERIN, PARFUM, SODIUM BENZOATE, TOCOPHEROL and PROPANEDIOL; TOCOPHEROL is vitamin E, which acts as an antioxidant in the formula.

Most formulas are scented: 82 of 92 (89%) contain fragrance ingredients. Silicones appear in 29 (32%), parabens in 11 (12%) and denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.) in 8 (9%).

What to check on a Lirene pack

If parabens are something you look out for, scan the list for names ending in -paraben; they occur in a minority of Lirene formulas, so comparing variants within a line usually pays off. The same goes for silicones, recognisable by endings such as -cone or -siloxane.
