About Mixa Solaire

Mixa Solaire is the sun care line of Mixa, a French skin care brand of L'Oréal that dates back to 1924, when the pharmacist Dr. Roger opened his first pharmacy in Boulogne near Paris; the name comes from a 1952 technique of mixing cream with powder. Mixa positions itself on gentle care for sensitive skin. Our 5 entries are SPF 30 and SPF 50/50+ products for sensitive skin, including a sun mist, a cream and two Tolérance Optimale sprays. The main Mixa range has its own page in our database.

Filters, silicones and alcohol

Our 5 Mixa Solaire entries carry no category tags, but all are sunscreens by name. The UV filters BUTYL METHOXYDIBENZOYLMETHANE and ETHYLHEXYL TRIAZONE appear in all 5, alongside TOCOPHEROL, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL and DISODIUM EDTA, with GLYCERIN and BIS-ETHYLHEXYLOXYPHENOL METHOXYPHENYL TRIAZINE in 4.

Silicones are listed in all 5 (100%) and denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.) in 4 (80%); none declares fragrance or contains parabens.

BUTYL METHOXYDIBENZOYLMETHANE (avobenzone), ETHYLHEXYL TRIAZONE and BIS-ETHYLHEXYLOXYPHENOL METHOXYPHENYL TRIAZINE are UV filters; the SPF on the pack, not the INCI order, tells you the protection level. ALCOHOL DENAT. is common in sprays and mists, where it helps the product spread and dry quickly.
