About Mokosh
Mokosh is a Polish family-run natural cosmetics brand founded by the sisters-in-law Ania Didiuk, a cosmetologist, and Ania Rutkowska-Didiuk; it started out in a garage in the mid-2010s. The name refers to Mokosz, a Slavic goddess associated with the earth, water and women. The company emphasises short ingredient lists and sells its face creams, body balms and body care collections in Poland, across Europe and to spas and hotels.
Butters and oils by scent
The 7 Mokosh products we list, taken from the manufacturer's information, are regenerating body butters – cranberry, melon with cucumber, orange with cinnamon, sandalwood with amber, cardamom with vanilla – and two hair conditioner-masks. PARFUM appears in all 7; TOCOPHEROL and HELIANTHUS ANNUUS SEED OIL in 6; and ARGANIA SPINOSA KERNEL OIL, SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS SEED OIL, BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII BUTTER and LINALOOL in 5.
Every formula declares fragrance (100%). None contains parabens, silicones or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).
Reading a body butter
Body butters are often anhydrous, so their lists start with plant butters and oils – shea as BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII, jojoba as SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS, argan as ARGANIA SPINOSA – rather than with water. The scent pair in the product name comes from the fragrance, whose named substances such as LINALOOL appear near the end.
