About Otacı
Otacı is a Turkish herbal cosmetics and personal care brand whose history goes back to 1955, when it began with plant-based lozenges. The company, Otacı A.Ş., is part of Kurtsan Holding alongside the group's pharmaceutical and medical businesses. Its range includes herbal shampoos, fruit-based shampoos aimed at younger consumers, soaps, oils and skin care.
Botanics+ and a rose cream
Three of our 4 Otacı entries are hair care from the Botanics+ line – a volumising shampoo and two conditioners (Saç Bakım Kremi) – and one is the Gül Kürü face and neck cream. GLYCERIN, SODIUM BENZOATE, POTASSIUM SORBATE, CITRIC ACID and AQUA appear in all 4; CETEARYL ALCOHOL and PARFUM in 3; CITRONELLOL, GERANIOL, EUGENOL, LINALOOL, PANTHENOL, CETRIMONIUM CHLORIDE and HYDROLYZED KERATIN in 2.
Fragrance is declared in 3 formulas (75%) and silicones in 1 (25%). None contains parabens or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).
'Herbal keratin' on the label
Two Botanics+ products advertise 'Bitkisel Keratin' (herbal keratin) in their names, while the INCI lists show HYDROLYZED KERATIN – the INCI name, not the marketing name, tells you which protein is used. A few Turkish words help: Şampuan is shampoo, Saç Bakım Kremi is conditioner and Yüz ve Boyun Kremi is face and neck cream.
