About Palmer's
Palmer's is an American family-owned skin and hair care brand that celebrated its 180th anniversary in 2020. Its parent company is E.T. Browne Drug Co., acquired in 1971 by the chemist Arnold Neis. The range is built around cocoa butter and coconut oil, with body, face and hair care and products for stretch marks and scars, and the company describes them as made in the USA.
Butters and oils at the top
Body lotions and balms make up most of the 9 Palmer's products we list – Cocoa Butter, Coconut Oil and Raw Shea formulas among them – and their signature ingredients show up in the ranking: COCOS NUCIFERA OIL (7), HELIANTHUS ANNUUS SEED OIL (6), BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII BUTTER (6) and THEOBROMA CACAO SEED BUTTER (6), with PARFUM present in all 9.
Every formula declares fragrance (100%), and silicones appear in 5 (56%). None contains parabens or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).
Cocoa, coconut or shea
The headline butter on the front – cocoa, coconut or shea – appears in the list as THEOBROMA CACAO SEED BUTTER, COCOS NUCIFERA OIL or BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII BUTTER; its position shows how prominent it is. BENZYL BENZOATE, found in 6 products, is one of the fragrance substances that labels name individually.
