About Sanex

Sanex is a personal care brand that originated in Spain, where Sara Lee Corporation introduced it in 1984. Colgate-Palmolive bought the brand in 2011. Its range includes deodorants, shower gels, liquid hand soap and moisturisers for body, face and hands.

Inside Sanex shower gels and deodorants

Sanex has 38 products in INCIMondo, split between shower gels and deodorants. Besides PARFUM and GLYCERIN, the top five (water aside) include LACTIC ACID – an acid used to adjust the pH and as a humectant – SODIUM BENZOATE and COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE.

36 of the 38 formulas (95%) contain fragrance ingredients and 10 (26%) contain silicones. Neither parabens nor denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.) appears in any of them.

Reading Sanex claims

Phrases such as “dermatologically tested” describe how a product was tested, not what is in it, so the ingredient list remains the precise source. Nearly all Sanex formulas are scented; if you prefer one without fragrance, look for the absence of PARFUM rather than for a front-of-pack promise.
