About Schick

Schick is a razor brand founded in 1926 by Jacob Schick, originally as the Magazine Repeating Razor Company. It now belongs to Edgewell Personal Care, which sells the same products in Europe under the Wilkinson Sword name. Its main lines are the Hydro family – including Hydro 3, Hydro 5 and the women's Hydro Silk – and Intuition, a women's system that lathers and shaves in one step. Our database lists razors, refill blades and a shave gel.

Inside the lubricating strip

Most of the 14 Schick entries are razors and refill blades, so the ingredients largely describe the lubricating strip: ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF JUICE (13), MALTODEXTRIN (12), CYCLODEXTRIN (10) and TOCOPHEROL (10) top the list.

Only 1 product (7%) declares fragrance. None contains parabens, silicones or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).

Hydro, Intuition and Wilkinson Sword

For a razor or cartridge, the list refers to the strip, not to a product applied to the skin in larger amounts – compare a Hydro cartridge with other cartridges, and the shave gel with gels. In Europe the same products are sold as Wilkinson Sword, so a pack under that name may be the closest match.
