About Softsoap
Softsoap is a liquid soap brand introduced in 1980 by the entrepreneur Robert R. Taylor through his Minnesota company, The Minnetonka Corporation, which helped popularise pump soap dispensers. Taylor sold the brand to Colgate-Palmolive in 1987. The range covers liquid hand soap and body wash. Our 5 entries include Shea Gentle Wash, Coconut Gentle Wash, Shea & Almond Oil and Coconut Shea Butter washes, plus an organic solid deodorant with coconut oil.
Pump soap staples
Most of the 5 Softsoap entries are washes, with one deodorant. SODIUM SALICYLATE, TETRASODIUM EDTA, COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE, SODIUM C12-13 PARETH SULFATE, PARFUM, CITRIC ACID, SODIUM BENZOATE and SODIUM CHLORIDE each appear in 4.
That puts fragrance in 4 formulas (80%). None contains parabens, silicones or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).
Preservatives in a wash
SODIUM SALICYLATE and SODIUM BENZOATE usually work as preservatives in rinse-off washes. The solid deodorant differs completely from the liquid soaps, so read its list on its own rather than against the washes.
