An enzyme that acts on glucose.
What it is
Glucose oxidase is an enzyme that oxidises glucose to gluconic acid, producing hydrogen peroxide in the process. CosIng lists it as a light stabiliser. It often appears together with lactoperoxidase and potassium thiocyanate, which together form an enzyme system.
Where it is used
Found in toothpastes, mouthwashes, creams and natural cosmetics.
