The product is a 50 ml day cream with a gel-like (hydrogel) texture from the Ageless Beauty with Progeline line, which also includes a night cream-mask, an eye cream and a body balm. The brand recommends it for all skin types from age 25, applied to face, neck and décolletage.

Ingredient analysis

Water and Damask rose flower water form the base, with propanediol and sodium hyaluronate as humectants and sodium acrylates copolymer as the gelling agent; lecithin helps disperse ingredients. The formula contains no oils, which explains the light gel texture.

The featured actives are “Progeline” (trifluoroacetyl tripeptide-2 supplied with glycerin and dextran) and tetrapeptide-1, sold as Uplevity e-Lift, plus Callicarpa japonica fruit and Kalanchoe pinnata leaf extracts. Preservation uses phenoxyethanol and caprylyl glycol; the cream contains parfum, with no individually declared allergens.

What to watch out for

Fragrance and rose water may not suit very fragrance-sensitive skin. Without oils, the cream may be too light for dry skin on its own, especially in winter. It contains no UV filters, so daytime use still requires sunscreen. Peptide anti-ageing claims come from ingredient suppliers and the brand rather than independent studies.

She reports that it genuinely moisturised, felt pleasant and gentle, absorbed quickly, left skin smooth and radiant, and – unusually for her – did not make her face shiny but gave a slightly matte finish. One opinion is not enough to judge how the cream works for other skin types or in colder months.

Who it may suit

Normal, combination or oily skin that prefers a light gel day cream, particularly in warm weather. Dry skin may need an extra serum or a richer cream; fragrance-sensitive users may want to patch-test.
