Our review
A minimalist, fragrance-free 100 ml face mist with glycerin, zinc PCA and allantoin. It has become a social-media favourite for blemish-prone skin and scores well on dm, though a noticeable minority reported more spots or irritation.
Packaging and what the product is
The official dm photo shows a clear 100 ml bottle with a white fine-mist pump, a cream label with the Balea oval logo and the words “Zink Spray – Zink PCA, Allantoin und Glycerin”. It is sprayed onto cleansed skin; reviewers praise the very fine mist and say one bottle lasts a long time.
Ingredient analysis
The ingredient list is only eight items long: water, glycerin, zinc PCA, allantoin, 1,2-hexanediol, caprylyl glycol, hydroxyacetophenone and lactic acid. Glycerin hydrates, zinc PCA is a soluble zinc salt often used in formulas for oily skin, and allantoin is a soothing agent. Hexanediol, caprylyl glycol and hydroxyacetophenone form a modern, paraben-free preservation and antioxidant system; lactic acid adjusts the pH. No fragrance, no alcohol.
What to watch out for
There are no declared allergens or EU-restricted ingredients. As with any new product on reactive or acne-prone skin, a few users reacted with more spots; introduce it gradually and stop if your skin worsens. Avoid spraying directly into the eyes.
What users say
On dm.de it had 4.3/5 from 189 ratings (checked 31 Oct 2026); dm notes that all published reviews took part in a prize draw and purchases are not verified. Many reviewers – including teenagers and parents buying for their children – report fewer spots, less redness and a cleaner-looking complexion after regular use, and praise the low price and fine mist; several mention it is often sold out. Negative reviews describe new breakouts after the first uses or irritation on sensitive skin, and a few saw no change.
Who it may suit
People with oily or blemish-prone skin who want a cheap, fragrance-free mist to add to an existing routine. Those with very sensitive skin should patch-test first and not expect it to replace medical treatment for acne.
