Our review

A light, fragrance-free face-and-body lotion built on glycerin and light emollients with three ceramides, cholesterol and hyaluronic acid. This INCI is the paraben-preserved (US-style) version; European reviews of the paraben-free EU lotion are very positive, with lightness for very dry skin the main reservation.

Packaging and what the product is

The cerave.com photo shows a white pump bottle with a blue diagonal band and blue pump, black “CeraVe” logo and the words “Daily Moisturizing Lotion – For Normal to Dry Skin”, with a “lightweight” tag and 12 fl oz (355 ml) printed at the bottom. It is a fluid lotion for face and body dispensed by pump.

Ingredient analysis

Glycerin is second, followed by caprylic/capric triglyceride and cetearyl and cetyl alcohols, giving a light emulsion. Ceramide NP, AP and EOP, cholesterol and phytosphingosine form the brand’s lipid complex, and hydrolysed hyaluronic acid adds a little humectancy. Dimethicone, ceteareth-20, behentrimonium methosulfate and polyglyceryl-3 diisostearate shape the texture; a phosphate buffer, carbomer and xanthan gum stabilise it. This version is preserved with methylparaben and propylparaben, and lists no fragrance.

What to watch out for

Methylparaben and propylparaben are permitted in the EU within set limits; propylparaben may not be used in leave-on products intended for the nappy area of children under three. Otherwise the list is short on common irritants – no parfum, no essential oils. The Polish product reviewed on Wizaż is the EU formula, which uses phenoxyethanol instead of parabens, so feedback refers to a closely related but not identical recipe.

What users say

On Wizaż the EU lotion had 4.7/5 from 580 ratings, with 85% saying they would buy it again (checked 31 Oct 2026). Users like the light but comfortable texture, absence of scent, good behaviour under make-up, the hygienic pump and refill pouches; one long-term user applies it to face, neck and body. A recurring caveat is that, despite the “dry to very dry” wording on the EU pack, some with very dry skin found it too light on its own.

Who it may suit

People with normal to dry skin who want a plain, unscented everyday lotion for face and body. Those with very dry patches may need a richer cream on top, and anyone avoiding parabens should check which version they are buying.
