About Caudalie

Caudalie is a French skin care brand founded in Paris in 1995 by Mathilde and Bertrand Thomas, who still own it as a family company. It specialises in "vinotherapy", using extracts from grapes and vines: its early products used grape-seed polyphenols, and it later patented a vine-derived resveratrol. The range covers face, body and hair care, sun care, fragrances and masks, with lines such as Vinopure and Resveratrol[Lift].

Vine names, grape-seed oil

The 8 Caudalie products we list include a Rose de Vigne shower gel, a Resveratrol [Lift] firming serum and eye balm, the Instant Detox Mask, Thé des Vignes body care and a pink grapefruit hand and nail cream. GLYCERIN, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL and AQUA appear in all 8, PARFUM, LIMONENE, TOCOPHEROL and POTASSIUM SORBATE in 6, LINALOOL in 5 and VITIS VINIFERA SEED OIL (grape seed oil) in 4.

Fragrance is declared in 6 formulas (75%) and silicones in 2 (25%). None contains parabens or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).

Finding the vine on the label

Grape-derived ingredients appear under the Latin name VITIS VINIFERA – as seed oil, fruit extract or juice – so that is the word to look for when a pack mentions the vine. Resveratrol is listed as RESVERATROL; its position shows where it sits among the other ingredients.
