Our review
An earlier version of Caudalie's firming serum: a light emulsion with a vine-shoot resveratrol derivative, hyaluronic acid and a peptide. Its fragrance includes butylphenyl methylpropional, now banned in the EU – so this exact formula belongs to the past, and reviews of it are few.

Packaging and what the product is
The Open Beauty Facts photo shows a silver airless pump bottle with a clear overcap and a lilac collar, printed “CAUDALIE”, “RESVERATROL [LIFT]” and “Sérum fermeté / Firming serum”, 30 ml. This is the pre-reformulation “Resveratrol Lift Firming Serum”; Caudalie now sells an “Instant Firming Serum” with a different ingredient list.
Ingredient analysis
Water, glycerin and butylene glycol form a hydrating base, emulsified with glyceryl stearate citrate and polyglyceryl-3 stearate, with hexyldecanol, hexyldecyl laurate and squalane as emollients and tocopheryl acetate as an antioxidant. The signature active, palmitoyl grapevine shoot extract (Caudalie's resveratrol derivative), sits in tenth place.
Hydrolysed hyaluronic acid and hyaluronic acid, plus acetyl dipeptide-1 cetyl ester, appear further down. Preservation uses sodium dehydroacetate with caprylyl glycol and ethylhexylglycerin; a little alcohol and a fragrance complete the formula.
What to watch out for
The fragrance allergens declared are coumarin, limonene, linalool and butylphenyl methylpropional (lilial). Lilial was classified as toxic for reproduction and has been banned in EU cosmetics since March 2022, so this formula can no longer be sold in the EU; check the INCI on any old stock or second-hand jar before use.
What users say
Opinions are few and dated. On LOOKFANTASTIC this listing shows 4.5/5 from 6 reviews written between 2015 and 2020 (checked 31 Oct 2026). Reviewers liked the light, quickly absorbed texture and softer skin, and one felt her skin looked lifted when combined with the matching cream.
One reviewer found no difference in wrinkles yet, and another disliked the smell, describing it as grassy and earthy. Because the formula has changed, these reviews say little about the current product.
Who it may suit
Mainly of historical interest for comparing formulas. Anyone interested in the line should look at the current Resveratrol-Lift serum and its own ingredient list rather than this version.
