About Mustela

Mustela is a baby care brand of Laboratoires Expanscience, a French company founded in 1950 by Paul Berthomé and a pharmacist, with headquarters in Paris La Défense. The brand offers skincare ranges for babies and children as well as a maternity range. The Mustela Foundation, set up in 1982, supports work on child health, child development and parenting.

Typical Mustela formulas

Baby care leads Mustela's 23 products in INCIMondo, followed by sun care, cleansers and make-up removers and body care. GLYCERIN comes first after water, then PERSEA GRATISSIMA FRUIT EXTRACT – an avocado fruit extract – GLYCERYL CAPRYLATE, CITRIC ACID and TOCOPHEROL.

Fragrance ingredients appear in 6 of the 23 formulas (26%) and silicones in 1 (4%). None contains parabens or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).

Choosing for babies and children

Whether a product contains PARFUM or individually named fragrance components is visible directly in the ingredient list – the quickest way to tell Mustela's scented and unscented items apart. In the sun care products, UV filters are listed by INCI name, while the SPF and, in the EU, often a UVA logo indicate the protection level.
