About Vichy

Vichy is a French skin care brand whose history dates back to 1931, when Dr Prosper Haller studied the properties of the thermal water of the spa town of Vichy for skin. The water, which contains 15 minerals and trace elements according to the brand, remains a recurring ingredient. L'Oréal acquired Vichy in 1955 and manufactures its products; in France, pharmacies and parapharmacies are its main points of sale. The products in our database include sunscreens, anti-ageing face care (Liftactiv), masks and deodorants.

Vichy's pharmacy shelf

Sunscreens, face care and deodorants are the main categories among the 13 Vichy products we list, including Liftactiv anti-ageing care. GLYCERIN (10), CAPRYLYL GLYCOL (10) and PARFUM (10) are the most frequent ingredients after water, followed by DIMETHICONE (8).

Fragrance turns up in 11 formulas (85%) and silicones in 8 (62%). Denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.) appears in 5 (38%); parabens in none.

Sun care and Liftactiv

In the sunscreens, UV filters are listed by INCI names such as ETHYLHEXYL SALICYLATE, OCTOCRYLENE or BIS-ETHYLHEXYLOXYPHENOL METHOXYPHENYL TRIAZINE, while the SPF and UVA logo show the tested protection. A sun fluid, a Liftactiv cream and a deodorant have little in common, so compare within one category.
