Our review

A single-use bio-cellulose sheet mask soaked in a fragrance-free, humectant-rich serum with niacinamide, panthenol, five forms of hyaluronic acid, polyglutamic acid and a long list of plant extracts. A sensible hydration boost; the few reviews on the brand site are enthusiastic, but the effect is temporary, as with any sheet mask.

Packaging and what the product is

The babor.com photo shows a flat, matt grey foil sachet printed with “3 % PGA Niacinamide Complex”, “Cryo Plumping Mask”, “Replenishing hydration & plumping effect”, a small “Hydration” label and “DOCTOR BABOR”, with “1 Stück / piece / pièce” at the bottom. Inside is one sheet mask made from biodegradable cellulose fibres; the brand suggests leaving it on for about 15 minutes. It is listed at $16 per piece on us.babor.com.

Ingredient analysis

Glycerin, niacinamide and panthenol follow water, so the serum is built mainly for moisture and comfort. Five hyaluronic acid forms (sodium, potassium, hydrolysed, acetylated and free acid) are joined by polyglutamic acid, sorbitol and sodium gluconate, all of which bind water to the skin surface. Niacinamide is a well-researched ingredient for barrier support and the look of uneven tone.

The plant list is long: Ascophyllum and bladderwrack seaweeds, willowherb, Sichuan pepper fruit (Zanthoxylum piperitum), honeysuckle, grapefruit, aloe, centella, coconut fruit, witch hazel, watercress, agrimony, fumitory, ginseng, rosemary, figwort and nettle. Most are present in small amounts. 1,2-hexanediol, butylene glycol and methylpropanediol are humectant solvents, citric acid and sodium citrate buffer the pH, xanthan gum thickens and phenoxyethanol preserves. There is no fragrance, and the brand states the formula is vegan.

What to watch out for

The mask is fragrance-free, but the long botanical list (including witch hazel, grapefruit and Sichuan pepper extracts) means people with plant allergies or very reactive skin should check the INCI and patch test. Niacinamide can occasionally cause temporary flushing. Keep the mask away from the eyes, do not reuse it, and remove it if it stings. The plumping effect of humectants is short-lived; it does not change skin structure.

On us.babor.com the mask had an average of 4.7/5 from only 5 reviews (checked 1 Nov 2026). Reviewers describe skin feeling refreshed, very moisturised and plump afterwards; one uses it after a peel, another calls it the best mask she knows, noting that it separates well, fits the face and has a light scent (although no fragrance is listed). With so few reviews, this is a small sample.

Who it may suit

People with dry, dehydrated or dull-looking skin who want an occasional, fragrance-free hydration boost before an event or after a professional treatment. Those who prefer reusable or lower-waste products, or with known allergies to some of the plant extracts, may choose differently.
